The hydraulic oil of the cold chamber die casting machine recommends to replace every 2000 hours under normal operation. When replacing the high-performance anti-wear hydraulic oil, it need thoroughly clean the oil tank to avoid contamination.

Further supplement, the hydraulic oil need filter after 500 hours of operation in a new machine. And then replaced with new oil after 1500 hours. In addition, the hydraulic oil filter need to replace once a year to ensure the cleanliness and performance of the system.

Shutdown and Cooling

Turn off the machine and allow the hydraulic oil to cool to room temperature.

Draining Oil

Open the drain plug at the bottom of the oil tank and drain all the old oil into a container.

Cleaning the Oil Tank

Check the inside of the oil tank for impurities such as iron filings and dust. If necessary, rinse with a cleaning agent and allow to dry thoroughly.

Replacing the Filter

If using a replaceable filter, replace or clean it according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Refilling with New Oil

Use the recommended specification hydraulic oil and add oil according to the oil level indicated in the machine manual.

It is recommended to regularly check the contamination level of hydraulic oil and replace or test the hydraulic oil as needed. If the hydraulic oil fails the test, it should be replaced immediately.

The hydraulic oil need replace after the first 500 hours of operation. And the quality should be checked every 1000 hours thereafter. If any abnormality is found, new oil needs to be replaced.

Oil Level

  • Observe the oil level gauge or dipstick; confirm the oil level is within the specified range.
  • Below the lower limit → Add oil; Above the upper limit → May cause spillage.

Oil Color/Transparency

  • The color should be a clear pale yellow or pale red; no obvious black, emulsified, or metallic particles.
  • Darkening of color, emulsification → Replacement required.

Odor

  • Normally there should be no pungent odor; a burnt or sour smell indicates the oil has oxidized or been overheated.
  • Unusual odor → Replacement required.

Filter/Screen
